Gibraltar is possibly the last unreleased track by the late Rikki Sylvan a much underrated musician in his day, but one who as the creative lead in his band Rikki and the last days of earth led the charge from punk to synth-pop Dave Thompson writing on AllMUSIC had some interesting things to say on both Rikki as a solo artist and ducer and the band, for instance “Rikki and the Last Days of Earth exploded out of Britain’s punk underground in mid-1977, one of the most audaciously forward-looking bands of the entire era, and one whose output screams louder for re-evaluation with every passing year”.
